"A short course of treatments at Prestons finally restored my shoulder function, so that I was able to compete at a high golf level that I knew I was capable of. Helens knowledge of the golf swing also gave me insight, so that I practice certain exercises and am ready to score well from the first tee shot."
Rory Edwards, County Scratch League Challenge cup squad member, Milton Golf club
"Being an 18 year old, sports mad teenager, a serious injury was the last thing on my mind whilst playing hockey for Peterborough Town Ladies. However, it happened, and without the help, and diagnostics from Helen, the seriousness of my injury (cruciate ligament damage to my knee) would not have been dealt with as quickly as it was. Helen liased with the surgeon, both in writing detailing the problem, and for the post surgery treatment. The programme that she prepared, the advice, support and motivation that she gave me, have been invaluable in getting me back to fitness. I have no reservations in recommending Prestons to anyone with similar problems: whether through sport or any other activity"
Claire Pateman, 18, Hockey player.
"I was running as part of my gym routine for sometime when I decided to try running outdoors and very soon set my first goal, to run a Half Marathon. I subsequently joined a running club (Werrington Joggers) and was actively taking part in club races and events and improving my times with each race. I decided to set 'The Challenge', a Full Marathon. With my 16 week training plan mapped out I was focused, each week adding more miles to each run, building up my stamina and strength ready for the big day. At the back of your mind you keep saying to yourself, don't over do it, don't get injured and what happens with just a few days to go disaster hits, you're injured.
When it happens you think there's no solution, I turned to Helen and her team. After a comprehensive examination and review of my training, Helen was able to diagnose the problems in and around my right hip (Bursitis and muscle strain in my Glut area) through over training. Now treatment could begin. As a result of the initial effective treatment and physiotherapy I was able to complete my Marathon and with a few additional post Marathon treatment sessions I have now fully recovered with no lasting problems. The initial reassurances that Helen gave as to the seriousness of my injury and what treatment was required quickly built my confidence back to enable me to run my Marathon. I now strongly believe that the correct treatment, as early as possible, can make all the difference. I recommend Prestons to anyone with a sports related injury similar to mine without hesitation.
