Tina Parkes,
I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2002 with a degree in Sports Science. I then continued my study to qualify as a physiotherapist from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2005 with an MSc in Rehabilitation Science. Since then I have worked in both the NHS and private sectors. I joined the team at Prestons in 2008, and am currently studying for my MSc Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy degree at Kings College London alongside my working hours.
I use an evidence based approach to my treatments, taking into consideration the needs of each individual patient. Special interests include the treatment of back and neck pain, sporting injuries, and postural problems. I am a qualified APPI Pilates Instructor and use this skill within treatment sessions, on a one-to-one basis, or within a class setting. I use a variety of other skills including manual therapy (joint mobilisations/manipulations and soft tissue massage), muscle balance techniques, exercise programs, and acupuncture.
